	New French Committee for Accreditation (Cofrac) authorizes the use of kits for water microbiological analysis when certified under the AFNOR VALIDATION Scheme

News

As of the 2nd of July 2010, 96 microbiological methods in the food industry as well as 2 antibiotic detection methods are certified AFNOR VALIDATION. The 96 microbiological methods are validated according to EN ISO 16140 standard protocol requirements.

During the July meeting, the Technical Committee of AFNOR VALIDATION awarded :

- The validation of 5 new methods : Adiafood Salmonella (AES Chemunex), BACARA (AES Chemunex), BAX Real-Time PCR Assay E.coli O157:H7 (DuPont Qualicon), GeneDisc Listeria DUO (Pall GeneSystems), RayAl Listeria (RayAl Ltd)

- The renewal of validation of the following methods : ALOA COUNT (AES Chemunex), RAPID'L.Mono detection (Bio-Rad), Rapid'Listeria spp (Bio-Rad), Premi Test (DSM Premitest), Listeria Precis enumeration (Oxoid ThermoFisher Scientifics)

Next meetings of AFNOR VALIDATION Agribusiness Technical Committee : 23th & 24th of September, 2nd & 3rd of december 2010, 3rd & 4th of february 2011, 24th & 25th of march 2011, 12th & 13th of may 2011, 30th & 1st of july 2011.

On May 10th 2010, 4 new microbiological rapid methods were submitted to the AFNOR VALIDATION Technical Board / Water analysis:
The validation studies are launched and are realized implementing a validation protocol based on comparison between an alternative method and the reference standardized method. This protocol has been drafted by AFNOR Certification.
